CoD RPS Bot — Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how CoD RPS Bot ("the Bot") collects, uses, and stores data when used in Discord servers.

2. Data We Collect

The Bot collects and stores the following:

  • Discord User IDs — used to link your Discord account to your WordPress character sheet via the /link command
  • Server Configuration — the Storytelling Staff role ID and bot channel ID set by server administrators via /setup

The following data is held temporarily in memory and is automatically cleared when the Bot restarts or after a period of inactivity:

  • Default character selections set via /default
  • Active challenge state during /challenge and /discipline interactions
  • Discipline activation state awaiting Storyteller input

3. Data We Do Not Collect

The Bot does not collect, store, or log:

  • Message content
  • Usernames or display names (beyond what Discord provides during an active interaction)
  • IP addresses
  • Any personal information beyond Discord user IDs

4. How Data Is Used

Collected data is used solely to operate the Bot's chronicle management features. Data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

Discord User ID to WordPress account links are stored persistently on the WordPress server and can be removed by unlinking your account or contacting a chronicle administrator. Server configuration is stored in a file on the Bot's host server and is deleted if the Bot is removed from the server.

6. Third Parties

The Bot communicates with your chronicle's WordPress installation to retrieve character sheet data. No data is shared with any other third parties.

7. Your Rights

You may request removal of your linked account data at any time by contacting a chronicle administrator. Removing the Bot from a server will result in that server's configuration data being inaccessible.

8. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Bot constitutes acceptance of any changes.
